Description

Transform into a real paddle boarder with wesup’s senior instructors this season. The Beginner & Improver clinic is the first course in our zero to hero series. It is a practical and theoretical course that will give you excellent fundamental paddle and safety skills, to keep you paddling all year round.

Wherever you are in your paddle boarding journey, this course has something to offer. It is a perfect introduction for newbies looking to get into SUP. It will build confidence for those who bought a paddle board this summer but haven’t mastered the proper technique to use it. And those who know the basics but want to progress will learn to paddle with more grace and better efficiency.

You’ll start on your knees, learning just 3 basic paddle strokes and then transition those skills to standing when you are ready. We will then teach you techniques to master the critical skill of getting back onto your board. This course will prepare you for all the environmental conditions you may encounter, not just fair weather. SUP is an amazing year-round activity, you just need to know how to not fall in!

Throughout the course, we will give you the chance to ask all your burning questions and absorb the shared knowledge that will ultimately enable you to stay stood up, warm and dry!

The beginner & improver clinic will rapidly and dramatically improve your paddle skill, strength and confidence on the water. We guarantee your enjoyment and success or we’ll welcome you back for a free second attempt.

What to wear is the big question…

If it is your first time paddling, we recommend a wetsuit to help your confidence and settle any worries about falling in or getting cold. We have a range of lovely quality, super stretchy black wetsuits which can be rented free of charge.

If you do not like wetsuits, please wear warm layers that you do not mind getting wet, such as gym gear. You will also need to wear one of our comfy, warm buoyancy aids. Waterproof socks, barefoot trainers or good quality wetsuit boots are perfect for keeping your feet warm.
